Sarah Beeny's Selling Houses Starts Tonight at 9pm on More4

Our exciting new show Sarah Beeny's Selling Houses starts tonight at 9pm. It's the first episode of the new series on More4 every Tuesday for the next 9 weeks.

Ben Weston Appointed Reef's Head of Specialist Factual

In this newly created role reporting to Managing Director Richard Farmbrough, Weston’s brief will be to expand Reef Television’s output in Arts, Music and History programming and help build on Reef’s recent successes with programmes such as Britain's Hidden Heritage and Britain's First Photo Album. Weston will also be exploring opportunities in events and live programming across all of Reef's output.

Weston joins Reef Television from his most recent role at the BBC where he was Executive Editor of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, overseeing the whole of BBC One’s output for this historic occasion: 14 hours of live television across a three day weekend including the highly acclaimed Diamond Jubilee Concert which he produced and staged using Buckingham Palace as the backdrop.  For his services on the Diamond Jubilee he was appointed Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (LVO) in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Honours announced last week.

Weston is an award-winning TV executive whose programmes have ranged from major international events to landmark films and series for all major British TV networks.  They include Les Mis at 25: Matt Lucas Dreams the Dream for BBC Two; the Vodafone Live Music Awards and Fashion Rocks for the Prince’s Trust for Channel 4; How Britain Got the Gardening Bug for BBC Four; and Holocaust – A Music Memorial Film from Auschwitz for BBC Two for which he won a BAFTA, an International Emmy and a Royal Television Society award.  Prior to the Diamond Jubilee he was Commissioning Executive for music and events at the BBC.

Richard Farmbrough, Reef Television’s Managing Director, comments: “It's a great coup for us to attract a talent such as Ben Weston to Reef. He brings with him a huge range of experience, a boatload of awards and a contacts book that the rest of us can only dream of. We're really looking forward to him joining the senior team alongside myself, Paul Hanrahan and Alex Dundas, our Head of Popular Factual.”

Ben Weston comments: "The offer to join Reef in this new role was just too tempting to turn down.  Not only have I admired the company’s programming output for many years, they also have the reputation for being a great company to work for.  I can't wait to get started."

Reef Television’s most recent broadcast credit is the BBC One returning series Britain’s Hidden Heritage with Paul Martin, Clare Balding and Charlie Luxton, and next month sees the transmission of their first More 4/Channel 4 commission – Selling Houses with Sarah Beeny.

Sarah Beeny's Selling Houses Show Outline Released

Paul Hanrahan, Director of Production at Reef Television has released the following synopsis of the new housing programme with Sarah Beeny for Channel 4:

Sarah Beeny's Selling Houses

Three homeowners desperate to sell get the chance to snoop around each other’s houses before going head-to-head in a competition for one buyer. Having sized up their rivals’ properties they then get one week, one thousand pounds and top-notch advice from expert Sarah Beeny on how to improve their homes, before a buyer comes round to select their favourite. For some the truth is hard to hear and Sarah’s advice and their rivals’ comments are not always welcome – especially when it’s so close to home. But with budgets tight and time short the pressure is on to make the most impact with their makeovers. This show’s about style, taste and selling houses.
